The Vision Summit 2002 World Peace: The Difference We Can Make May 17-22, 2002 , Washington , D.C.
When you look at the volatile situations taking place all over the planet, you may notice something very peculiar. When two parties are in conflict, each party is right and the other party is wrong. Without exception, each party insists that it is right and the other party is wrong. I call this the psychology and politics of self-righteousness. There is an epidemic of this kind of negative, obstinate self-righteousness on the planet.. . .
. . . if the transformation of the world is your commitment in life, you must remain ready and willing to be transformed in the process. So if you are not willing to be changed in the course of changing the world, don't do it. You will cause more problems than solutions. And the biggest problem we have today may be that those who are given the responsibility of solving various problems are themselves the problems.
