Laara Lindo
Director of the Board Emeritus

Laara Lindo is a Director of the Board Emeritus of Vision In Action.

A renaissance woman, Ms. Lindo has explored and actively engaged in classical music, major world literature and philosophy, languages, poetry, piano, singing, painting, textile crafts, and several other fields. Also, she is one of the foremost proponents of and experts in what is known as the New Thought movement, a philosophical movement originally advanced by such visionary thinkers as Thomas Troward, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Walter Russell.

Ms. Lindo grew up surrounded by nature, literature, and music. She entered the teaching profession at the age of 19, during a period in time when the best and the brightest went into teaching. She earned her degrees in English Literature while teaching. During her long career as an educator, she taught the Language Arts, English Literature and Composition, Creative Writing, and Journalism to students of all ages. She was particularly noted for her skill in encouraging and promoting thinking and creativity.

Ms. Lindo succeeded Senator Melford Okilo, for five years serving as President of the University of Science and Philosophy, formerly the Walter Russell Foundation. As one of the foremost scholars of Walter Russell’s philosophy, she successfully promoted his visionary thought throughout the United States and around the world in partnership with Yasuhiko Genku Kimura, who joined her in 2000 as Chief Executive Officer of the University of Science and Philosophy. Owning largely to her dedicated work, Walter Russell, a long-forgotten versatile genius, has once again become a relevant figure in today’s renewed New Thought and Integral Science Movement.

Ms. Lindo also served as President of The Twilight Club for three years, as a co-worker, author, and lecturer with Yasuhiko Genku Kimura, who re-envisioned and reinvented the vision and work of the original Twilight Club ethical and cultural movement for the 21st Century. Working with Mr. Kimura, Ms. Lindo helped organize seven highly successful conferences and symposia, including The Twilight Club Vision Summit (2001 and 2002), The Frontier of Knowledge Symposium (1999 – 2001), and the Unified Science Conference (2002).

For four years, as co-editor with Mr. Kimura, Ms. Lindo developed as well as edited and contributed articles to the highly acclaimed quarterly journal The Cosmic Light, A Journal of Frontier Science and Philosophy for Integral Thinkers. During this same period, she edited or co-edited six books including Walter Russell’s Think and Yasuhiko Genku Kimura’s Think Kosmically Act Globally and The Book of Balance. Also, Ms. Lindo, with Mr. Kimura, emended and revised Walter and Lao Russell’s classic Home Study Course in Universal Law under the new title, A Course in Cosmic Consciousness. As President of The Twilight Club and of the University, Ms. Lindo traveled widely as a lecturer and seminar presenter.

Ms. Lindo is noted for her original poetry, with two volumes in print, Hyacinths and Blue Gentian Mountain. She is the author of numerous philosophical and educational articles; publishes a quarterly poetry anthology, Inscapes; and is co-editor of a new literary journal, The Golden Matrix. Her science fiction, Blue Planet Green, and other novels for young people as well as a collection of essays and poems, The Beauty of Being, now await publication.

Laara Lindo is dedicated to carrying forward the spirit and the work of The Twilight Club and the New Thought Movement through her commitment to the vision and goals of Yasuhiko Genku Kimura’s new organization, Vision-In-Action, with the conviction that world peace and prosperity are built upon pursuit of that which creates beauty, harmony, and happiness.
